Story Idea?

Millie had never seen the sunlight…

It was always dark and the weather was harsh.

Billowing winds, stormy nights. Fear. Loneliness. Sadness.

She grimaced and kicked at the gray sand. Everything was horrid. It was all her fault. She was different from the other Astracals. She was strange… She could read minds…

The Beach- A poem

The beach

The sand sunk into my toes,

Tickling my feet.

The bright sun shone on me,

The humid air against my nose,

I smile and breathe it in.

The calm and gentle wind hugs me,

The clouds slowly sway.

Hello Mr. Writer’s Block

Hello Mr.Writer's Block.png

Hello, everyone! Today I am interviewing someone you may know very well. Mr. Writer’s Block. The obnoxious Writer’s Block is entering this post this very second.

Mr. Writer’s Block: Well Hello there. I am happy to be on this post. Oh- and don’t worry, I’ve done a lot of practicing. 😉

Ava:*Glares* Well… as long as you don’t ruin this post, then I will be fine.

MWB: Okay, sure I definitely won’t ruin your posts’.

Ava: Okay, first question. Why did you start this profession, of causing others to be unable to think of what to write or how to proceed with writing?

MWB: *Smirks* Since I was a young child, I have been very fond of writing. But there never was a challenge for me. Before I existed, everything was easy. I wanted to make writing an adventure-a journey!

Ava: Well that’s not the case. Because of you *Points at him accusingly* Many people who could have become excellent writers, have begun to form a hatred to writing!

 MWB: …
Ava: Yeah, Big mistake Mr.!
MWB: Well… I’m not sorry, it’s their problem that they decided to despise writing.
Ava: *Glares* Okay, next question. What do you like to do in your free time?
MWB: Ruin writer’s progress, Make them start over, cause others to be unable to think of what to write or how to proceed with writing.

Ava: Besides that.
MWB: I like to critique books, and laugh at how the authors took me so seriously.  They didn’t have to change the whole storyline.*laughs*
Ava: What! You did all of that?
MWB: YUP…
Ava: Why?
MWB: Did I tell you that I made Jane Austen rename several of her books?
Ava: No… WAit! You made her rename them!
MWB: Yes Ma’am.
Ava…wOw…
MWB: *winks* Wow indeed.
Ava: Mkay. Next question, Cats or Dogs?
MWB: Cats
Ava: Fruits or Veggies?
MWB: Fruits
Ava: Writing or Blogging.
MWB: Writers, they listen to everything. *Chuckles*
Ava: Money or Fame?
MWB: Money. I’m already famous, just sayin’
Ava: I see *slightly smiles* Rice or Noodles
MWB: Rice
Ava: Okay last question, Pusheen or Micky Mouse?
MWB: PUSHEEEEN! Pusheen is AWESOMENESS.
Ava: I have to admit… I AGREE WITH YOU!! PUSHEN IS BOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Pusheen: Can you interview me?
Ava: SUREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Ava: Well Mr. Writer’s Block, that’s all for today!
MWB: Awww, already? Well thanks for the interview, I really enjoyed it.
Ava: I’m glad you did!
MWB: *Leaves post*
Well wasn’t that swell? I’m so glad he’s gone! No offense, I’m just worried he may randomly sneak into one of my post’s.
I hope you guys enjoyed!

Why planning doesn’t work

Why Planning.png

I remember staring at a piece of paper full of scribbles and notes. When will I ever start this novel? I had thought to myself. All my plans and ideas I had scribbled on the page were forgotten. So I clicked the button that said: Word 2013 and started typing about my random story characters. I ended up writing a nice short story. That was the first time I realized that planning doesn’t always work.

when you are writing a story, you need to have a plan. But when you over plan, the story process becomes more of a chore. For me, writing is harder when I plan and it’s easier when I come up with an idea and start writing.

Here are some alternatives to planning

Talk to your characters

Have you ever talked to your story characters? I have many times. When I talk to my character, I learn more about her/him. I imagine I’m the friend and they are having a normal conversation. It’s easy and fun to talk to them.

Write random stories about your characters

When writing, you don’t have to always stick with the story. Open up a new page and write a mini story about your character, and how the character handles a certain situation. Then, if you liked the story you can try to add it into you book.

Experiment with other ideas

When writing, try knew things with you charcters. Interveiw your character. Ask them questions. That will help you learn more about them, trust me, it helps.

I hope these tips help!

Letters from Esme

Letters from Esme.png

Dearest Mallory,

Mallory, I haven’t written to you for a long time. Mother makes me write letters every day, I actually enjoy it. Little Everett was sent to boarding school to take up the violin. I miss him so, It’s hard without him being home much. Every Sunday he visits. Even though he is very annoying I still miss him.

I am so excited because the spring ball Miss Weatherford is hosting is tomorrow evening. I am going to wear a beautiful Violet evening gown, with lots of frills, and those puffy sleeves. It’s so becoming and best of all, the ball is the night of my birthday. I’m turning 13 years old. My first ball and I’m finally a young woman! It’s going to be splendid!

We have a visitor in Constard. It’s a very intelligent and charming young man. He visits frequently. He tutors me in art and literature. I think he is about fourteen. I hope he comes to the ball, maybe he might even dance with me!

How is college going? I miss you so.

I must go now, Mother is going out for tea and I have to come with her.

Have a wonderful day,

Your little sister,

Esme Blythe

Introducing; Word War!

Word War.png

Hello, my friends! I am super excited to share with you that today, Word War is starting!

What is Word War?

Word War is a fun way for bloggers and writers to come together and create a 50,000 novel. I came with Word War a few years ago, but I never really put it on any of my websites, (considering my blog was a doll blog). I decided to do it now! Each blogger/writer chooses a team that they want to be on, once each team is even we can start!  The two teams compete against each other, working together as a team to write a novel.

Is there a theme?

Well…yes-but-no. This year’s Theme is Fanasty/Sci-fi but you can really do anything you would like, as long as your chapter lines up with the first chapter.

What do we even do?

I write the pro·logue of the story, so everybody gets an idea what to write, I will choose which team to be on later. Each team uses the same pro·logue, but they cannot copy the other teams’ stories. Each blogger writes a chapter for the story. Here is an example.

Misty Bloggs is at the top of the list so she writes chapter one etc. After each blogger writes a chapter, the next blogger does until we get to the bottom of the list. Then we repeat everything until the story is finished.

Rules;

  • Please don’t have any gory or vulgar content, remember this is for all ages.
  • Do not use God’s name in vain, swear or another suggestive language.
  • Do not copy other bloggers chapters.
  •  Have fun!

  Teams;

The Lost ones    The Violets (1).png

Choose the team you want to be on and tell me in the comments.

Sign up now!

The signup/team choosing period will end July 28, which is one week from now.

Each chapter will be in first person.

The whole Novel deadline is September 10th.

Comment down below if you have any other questions! Have a great day!
